Sonar friendly video capture. Am I just dreaming?

I want to record some video but use sonar to record the audio.
What I mean is I want to do both at the same time directly onto my laptop.

Now I know I can extract audio from any video source and replace it with a edited version from Sonar. But can I do it simultaniously?

I have another issue I can't solve. My Sony camcorder shuts off after 5 minutes ir I don't record with it (sleep mode). Well when I'm capturing direct to my laptop using firewire capture it shuts off as if it is not being used.

I'd recommend a tool like Sony Vegas for this.

Sonar can't capture video..i was wondering about simultaneous audio/video too ..not possible it seems, not with Sonar.

I forgot the hack..it's something as simple as having no DV cassette inside..or the opposite - i'm pretty sure mine worked without shutting off after 5 minutes when I tried it.

Thanks, I'll have to try that. I think I get a blinking message though. Not sure I'll have to check.

Hey Al. That did work. The only problem is it automatically goes into Store Demo mode and as it shows the features. It also changes the recording.
But it didn't shut off. :-)
