Music Maker vs Pyro

Can someone tell me if there is anything that Pyro can do that Music Maker cannot? I am mostly interested in ripping single track recordings onto my hard drive and then using Music Maker to divide the recording into individual tracks and then putting it back together and burning it to a cd. Since Pyro isn't compatible with Vista I am considering buying Music Maker for my new computer.

    Do you mean;

    Music Maker?

    or do you mean;

    Music Creator?

    Also, if you're talking about splitting up a mixed and mastered stereo track back into it's individual tracks......you can't....

    Yes Music Creator.
    I am not referring to individual tracks of a mastered song.
    To be specific, I record the service at church onto a cd as one long track. Then i divide it into individual tracks, take out the dead time and add fade ins to the music tracks. then i put it back together into a single project and burn it to a cd that ends up with about 12 tracks. If I take the cd that I record at church and i download it onto the computer, can i use music creator to divide the recording into different tracks/songs manually?

    Yes you could, using the split at cursor feature, or use a good wave editor like sound forge or goldwave or even audacity.

    I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

    Thanks.
    Does anyone know if the 2 programs do things similarly? I was thinking of using the Cakewalk Music Creator in hopes that the things that they have in common might be about the same.

    I don't know anything about pyro, but music creator can be used to break up the long cd into seperate tracks, edit out dead space or unwanted space, fade in and or out, and prepare the tracks for a burn to cd. Probably best if you make a copy, start working with it and come back with specific questions as you run into problems...or maybe you wont run into any problems, it is not very difficult to do what you want to do...keep us posted...but go ahead and see what happens.
