SONAR 6 - phantom keys being pushed?

I just installed my Ozonic interface and it doesn't matter if I am in SONAR 6, Reason 3, or Ableton Live... when I hit keys the notes start to either get softer and then louder as if someone is holding a key down while the volume getting louder. or sometimes notes will play on their own seemingly. there is no noticable latency and it's really responsive but all of a sudden - using Windows XP and latest drivers (and I've used this before with XP and same programs just fine) some notes will get stuck and keep playing on their own? ?

Please advise...

I should say the notes play fine at first but after several notes.. extras start slipping in and then keep playing and I have to kill the audio engine to get it to stop.. very annoying!

Are you controlling soft synths (which ones?) or external hardware?

I should also say that adjusting latency doesn't help either[sm=rolleyes.gif]

One thing you can try is to see if your keyboard is responsible for the extra notes. Try http://www.midiox.com/ to view exactly what data is coming into Sonar.

Yea I am thinking it has to be the keyboard since this same thing happens in every program I try and use - Sonar or not. It could be the firewire cable going bad and transmitting when it shouldn't or the keyboard itself. Not sure. Thanks for that midi-ox tip! I'll try that too

Just look at the midi log in Sonar Utils. Watch it and it'll show you every key-down and key-up, IIRC.
