I'd be leary of getting too aggresive with it as well. I was wondering the same thing when I read GP's post.
It sounds good on my old Pioneer HPM100's, maybe a tad bright on phones.
My power amp went South last week, so my monitors are out of commision 'til the replacement gets here.
Those high register guitars are appropriate for the style. Go easy.
