audio to midi

anyone know any good audio to midi software(real-time)? I'm looking for freeware. id like to be able to try to make myself a cheap electronic drum set :)

    do you need audio-to-midi then? why not use a soundfont player or sampler?

    yeah i want to make a electronic drum kit :] or at least a simple version of one.
