I think that's normal. Its pairing them up in stereo (Left/Right) so 1 is really 1/2, 3 is 3/4, 5 is 5/6, etc. If you just want to record a mono track from input 2, select Ch1 Right.
My Delta 44 has 4 inputs and on the drivers dialog, it shows 1 and 3. 1 is Inputs 1 and 2 and 3 is Inputs 3 and 4.
With Sonar 7 (and 6) you can change the names on the driver screen to friendlier names, but you won't be able to split them into separate drivers. Just make them say ASIO Driver In 1&2, ASIO Driver In 3&4, etc. and ASIO Driver Out 1&2, etc...
