SONAR Piano Roll: Deselect and silent drag

I the Piano roll of SONAR:
- I select multiple note events using ghe Select tool. I accidentally select a couple too many. I cannot seem to deselect single notes. I have tried Shift Select, Ctrl Select. Shift Select is able to _add_ more notes, but how to remove a couple?

- Having selected severla events I want to drag them _without_ them all screaming cacophonically at me.

Can anybody tell how I achieve the above two?

Thanks for any help.

Try ctrl+click again, it should deselect the note. 99.99% positive that I do this all the time.

To move notes silently just turn off the audio engine, move the notes, then turn it back on. Sort of a hassle, but it works.

In the "Notes/Velocity" drop-down (above the keyboard in PRV) uncheck "polyphonic note audition".

You can also mute the track to disable auditioning completely. If you display the track pane in PRV (hit 'H') you have easy access to the track buttons.

I can only think I ctrl and then tried to surround select, not just click the note (????)...so, yes it worked. Ta.

Thanks for that tip about the Audio engine. I needed that. Try dragging 30 distorted guitar notes all at once.

    Nasty avatar BTW <G>

hmmm.. Help agrees with you....BUT... That menu has only 3 items on my setup (and I have not altered it to my knowledge).
    - Notes/velocity, wheel, and New Value Type. I assume that's the one you mean. It's called the "Edit MIDI Event Type menu" officially.

It does have a separator bar below it, which is unusual when there are no further items, but I tried to find it in the Menu Editor and could not suss it. It does not have the arrows as the other alterable ones do, indicating further items.

I have found an option under Options / PRV Tool Configuration (that Help fails to mention AFAICS!) which has solved the problem, but that drop-down is a mystery.

You're right...Polyphonic Note Audition and Velocity Audition are seen in Sonar 6 below the separator, but not in Sonar 7. They're now in the Options=>PRV tool configuration

OK. I will check that out. I was using that for other stuff, but did not notice those.

    Thanks
