PC Keyboard AS keyboard?

Would there be a way to have SONAR 7 recognize a USB2.0 keyboard as a MIDI keyboard? So I could use my regular keyboard AS the keyboard (it's on a notebook), and have the external USB2.0 keyboard for recording synth/piano parts in SONAR.

Aah. I don't know how to explain it properly in words.

I don't have a keyboard that would be used for recording (a synthesizer). Is there a way to use a PC keyboard AS a synthesizer inside of SONAR?

I'm sure you've heard this question before. Maybe it's a long shot, but it's worth a try.

Is there a way?

If you google "querty midi keyboard" there are definitely some options. Which will work best for you, I have no idea.

    Cheers.

I see what your suggestion is, yep, and thank you for your response.

My reason for wanting to do this is to have an easier way to add to the Piano Roll in SONAR. FL Studio has the option "Typing keyboard to piano".

Is there an option inside of SONAR for using your keyboard as a synth?

NO. sonar does not support it. in order to do this you'll have to get 3rd party software like yep suggested.
this company used to have it, I don't know if they still do or not.

It won't help much. You could get notes but there is no way to get volecity.
