CD Architect Not Writing CD Text

I'm not able to get CD Architect 5.2c to write CD Text to the disc and think it may be due to the type of drive that I have. It's a Pioneer DVR-112.

I get the same thing with Nero ... no CD Text written to the disc.

Anyone else experienced this problem?

Bob

    Hi Bob

Last time I used CD Architect I didn't get CD text either, but I was in a hurry and didn't pursue it further. So this is a kind off "I don't think it is working for me" reply. Sorry not to be more help!! Bit of a "Patrick" answer!!!

What are you using to play back the CD? many programs don't support CD text. Like WMP.

After creating the CD, using either CDA or Nero, the CD then ejects. Then I exit either program.

I close the CD drawer and Windows Media Player recognizes the disc and begins to play ... but with no CD text. (CD title, song list)

If I bring in a CD recorded elsewhere, the CD text displays just fine when Windows Media Player begins.

I checked the CDA forum and there was a thred several months ago regarding this, but apparently no resolution.

If you are using either CDA or Nero, I'd like to know if you are able to write the CD Text. I thought it might be the Pioneer burner, but the good folks at ADK computers say that the Pioneer is capable of writing CD Text.

Ah! There is the problem. Windows media player DOES NOT RECOGNIZE CD TEXT. The text you see from commercial CD's is downloaded from an online database when you insert the CD. It does not look for it on the CD text on the disk.

If you inserted your CD in a regular CD player with text display, I'm sure you would be able to see it just fine.

Now, I am confused. I have a CD that was burned at another studio ... not a commercial CD. Windows Media Player identifies and displays the CD title as well as the individual track titles.

I put my CDs in my home stereo as well as the one in the car. Both display CD text. Neither would display the text from the CDs that I burned using either CDA or Nero.

As for the first part, that could either have been accomplished by use of a plugin in WMP or the CD information was submitted to be included. You would have to ask your friend on that one. I am curious, because the windows documentation says WMP cannot read CD-TEXT and I have never been able to get anything to show up on the disks I burn.

Lets assume the CD-text is not being written as you say. Make sure that in CD Architect the Disk title and artist information are written in the file menu, and that the "Write CD-TEXT" check box is marked in the burn menu popup. If that doesn't work, maybe you do need a new burner, though I can't fathom why that would happen.

    Good luck

I have just received the following response from Sony Creative Software customer support ...

"This is a known issue in 5.2c and we are working to resolve the issue. ISRC has also been disabled."

So, I guess we'll just have to wait for 5.2d to arrive.
