Whenever someone calls one of my songs "interesting" I assume it's code for "inaccessible crap". I am also suspicious of "outside the box" and other vague allusions.

The adjective that first came to my mind while listening was just "bizarre".

But I happen to love bizarre, interesting outside the box music. So this (now reformed) drunken idiot gives this song 9 out of 10 fingers.

I disagree with the assessment that it needs a vocal. Too many interesting textures in there, you wouldn't want to push them to the back for a vocal.

A drum track might work, but would drastically alter the feel and uniqueness. I wouldn't do it. However, some sparse percussion might be nice. I'd suggest working in some tympani and triangle.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

"Outside the box" is generally OK, as it's more of a reflection of the writer's thought process.

"Quirky" and "fun", on the other hand, are connotative of personality traits -- as in, "your song isn't the best, but it has a great personality". You know what that means.

Thankyou Gonzo, Dave and Keith, for you thoughts.
There are a couple of phrases out there (not talking about any comments made on this thread) and one in particular (which i won't mention as i don't want to "start anything") which i'm quite sure means "i appreciate you put a lot of time and effort into that but man, that sucks" the majority of the time but there are times when i've felt sure that it's been said as a true compliment...you can never truly know for sure.
