My Ol Pal - I Need Your Memories
My Ol Pal Once you told me about these tiny (or tinny) small speaker cubes to faithfully recreate being in the front seat of your 72 Dodge Dart listening to Cream. They were like $300 unpowered and a bit more for some with amps. Do you remember what they were called? I sure dont. I am so used to mixing on my V8s then going to my LSR 32s. I need something that gets me that "Here is what it is gonna sound like in your car or on a boombox" vibe. Thanks
Some people call me Maurice SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc. Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

Avantones. Now in either passive or active. They're so cute.

THey dont make stands do they? I would like to put them right over the top of my dual 28s so they were pointing down to where I mix.

you can make auralex mopads point down. I have 6.5 inch monitors over 8 inchers. The 8s are at ear level and the 6.5s point down.

They are actually Auratone 5C cubes... the Avantones are the "current" copy cat.

Avantones. Love 'em, I can mix so much faster since I picked up a pair last year. I like them better than my old set of auratones. Great for mid range details, verb tails, vox volume, and kick drum, bass guitar settings. Mixes come together so much faster with them. If the Kick and Bass Guitar sound right on these speakers, your mix will hold up on anything.

Wail, sometimes the copycat copies the cat better than the cat copies it's ownself.
