Tascam 1884 Problems! Whats New?

Somebody PLEEEEEEASE hELP! Yeah I'm still trying to get the 1884 to run on windows vista after how many months? Well Tascam finally made some kind of Vista drivers available but Sonar still wont recognize the interface. I can see it as a midi device but not as a control surface (in the control surface window under options/control surface) the control surface tab remains blank however underneath the port selections are available! What's going on?

    Hey You guys won't believe this but right after I posted my problem I went back into sonar/options/midi devices and set the in/out ports to Control and then went to sonar/options/control surface and selected the Tascam 1884 (as I had done so many times before) and selected the control for in/out and VOILA!

    I would believe it. I have the 1.22 beta driver installed and all was fine till last night when I could not get it to play without dropouts at less than 1 second of play. I tried everything including reboots, changing over to asio drivers, buffer and latency adjustments etc... but after about the 5th try, all works again. Hmm..
