Rapture 1.1 DXi hangs SONAR 7.0.1

I've installed Rapture 1.1 on my system. In another post, I noted that the Rapture 1.1 VSTi doesn't work in Chainer. I'm also having problems with the Rapture 1.1 DXi in SONAR 7.0.1. I can load an instance of the Rapture 1.1 DXi, but it hangs SONAR 7.0.1 when trying to open its interface and I have to kill SONAR using the Windows XP task manager. The Rapture 1.1 VSTi (using the Cakewalk Plugin Manager) seems to run fine in SONAR 7.0.1.

(I'm running Windows XP, service pack 2 on a P4 with 1.5 GB and a RME Fireface 400.)

Anyone else seeing this or have any ideas? TIA

I also have this problem with the DXi in Sonar7. The VSTi works okay, but DXi hangs my system.
I posted this over in the Producer/Studio forum http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=1228384&mpage=1&key= but received no responses when I last checks. Since you are also having this bug, its good to know its just not me, but I wish a Cakewalk tech would chime in.

Good to see your post, Tom. I responded to your thread in the SONAR forum.

Anyone else seeing these problems? Any thoughts from Cakewalk? Rene?

Ah, so it looks like there is a bug whereby Rapture 1.1 will crash both SONAR 7.0.1 and P5 if the latency is set to a high level in either host. Thanks!

I hope Cakewalk fixes the bug; it's really bad for their own plugins to crash their own hosts on such a simple thing as a latency setting. Not to mention the fact that it has taken me a huge amount of time -- with the help of you and the forum -- to figure this out! Thanks, again!

    Other than:

(I'm running Windows XP, service pack 2 on a P4 with 1.5 GB and a RME Fireface 400.)

I don't see system specifics. What else is loaded in that box? Hey, how about hard drive specs. Do you have multichannel working well with that, and how does 1.5g of memory respond in that environment,...( I would have expected different increments like 1,2,...)

    justa few thoughts,....

    Hi Mark,

The machine is an off-the-shelf Sony VAIO desktop. SONAR is installed on one internal drive. I have a second internal drive (400 GB) for project files and then a firewire drive (750 GB) for samples and loops (I have many, very large sample libraries for Kontakt and other soft synths and samplers).

I'm not sure what you mean by "multichannel working well" and "1.5g of memory respond in that environment".

I don't have any hardware issues (that I'm aware of) and I have more than a hundred plugins that work with SONAR 7.0.1. So far, the only ones that give me trouble are Rapture 1.1 and Guru 1.5.12. I just got confirmation from Angus at Fxpansion that Guru has problems when the sample size is larger than 4096 and they plan on fixing that in the next update. So, that's not an issue with my hardware. And, Rapture 1.0 works fine on my system. So, that leaves Rapture 1.1 looking like it might have a bug ... my guess anyway.
