Sonar and V-Fire with VS2400CD

Hi...

We have a Roland VS2400CD DAW (yes, it's ancient, but we're used to it) with a V-Fire box to let it talk to a Windows PC (running 32-bit XP, should it matter).

It's been suggested that Sonar Producer would let us send eight tracks at a time through the V-Fire box to the VS2400CD. This would be cool.

We downloaded the Sonar demo.

With the V-Fire box plugged in, booting up Sonar displays a window that lists all the PreSonus drivers, and says they either don't support the current audio format, or are in use by another application, and lets us use them anyway or disable them.

To date, we've never gotten Sonar to output through them, and most of our attempts have actually locked up the computer, requiring that its plug be pulled to restart it.

Clearly we're doing something wrong... might anyone have a suggestion about how to configure Sonar to output its tracks through to the VS2400CD?

Thanks.
