Free MIDI drum loops
Although I may get raised eyebrows from some, where can I get some inexpensive, if not FREE MIDI drum loops like the ones used in EZD? fills, beats, etc. Also... how about some mallet work on cymbals

There's also www.smartloops.com You can get MIDI Drum Loops Volumes 1-3 for $39 or $19 a piece. They're pretty usable.

yeah, those freebs are pretty good and will give you a good taste of what is in store for the paid versions. Don't expect to really be able to complete a song with the freebies though, unless you're doing simple 3 chord rock, the full packages are needed to give you some depth, especially for fills and variations. But I have jazz, rock, world beats collections and they are all great and well worth the money. And despite the title, I've found that with a few mods, you can use jazz on rock, rock on jazz, jazz on world beats.... you get my point I hope.

I still use Drumtrax midi files, which sounded good with SD2 and even greater with EZDrummer.. The genres these files are usually listed under belie the fact that they may have a nice place in another genre or style.. Works for me.. Joe

I created a site with drum lessons and midi loops. Check it out and tell me what you think of it. The purpose of the site is to create drum lessons with beats that are related to each other. Currently there are 8100 rock, jazz and blues beats. The site will be growing, the rock beats will go up to 1000+ pages (+-35,000 beats). Next, many drum phrases will be uploaded; a drum phrase consists of 3 beat measures and 1 fill measure. Next there will be a jazz section. Feel free to send me your comments and suggestions www.eDrumBeats.com Rudy
