why doesn't Dim pro play???

If I record a midi passage from my KB and route it out to DMPro I get the patch(Martin guitar) that I wanted. also any other soft synth or midi sound bank, work as well, But...
There's always a but. I also have a Q chord. Q chord is a chording instrument that is the electronic version of an autoharp. It has chord buttons and a strum plate as well as midi in and out.
Midi out records on S7 midi track either as ommni or tracks 1-16 where 14,15,16 are the strum chords and another feature that is part of the strum.
I believe that trk 10 is rythem.
If I route out from midi, to edirol sound canvas or back to my KB, sound is fine but if I choose Dm Pro I get no sound. The meter on the midi channel shows the songs progression but something in DM Pro stops the out put which in all cases goes to the M audio Delta 44 to my mixer and studio monitors
The only thing I could find in Cann's book was on p 272 about lo/hi key and lo/hi vel but not sure that this is the problem as the qchord seems to map about like a KB
If anyone has a thought , please. Wyndham

IF you are trying to trigger one sound in one instance of dimension why not try merging all the recorded info to one track and channel, or at a minimin route it all to channel 1.

Also, I do not know the Q chord but it's CC info could be translating to something different in Dimension.

That's a possibility that the Q has a different signal set but if I have the midi set at omni doesn't that route all to channel 1 or is there a better way, Wyndham

I was looking into the midi file from Piano roll and saw the problem. each channel has a cc#120 or no sound and I need to figure out how to edit these channels. I can see what the status is but have not found out how to edit. Thanks for any help, Wyndham

You can edit your midi data in the Event List (look under "views" in the menu bar). This may be what you're looking for.

    Cheers,

Thanks Russ, this maybe it. Question though. since I'm at work and not at the system w/ S7. Since what I saw on the left side of piano roll showed that each channel had a value of cc#120= no sound and the event list (I'm using an old 2.2 Sonar version on this system) deals with each event in the score, where would the location be to edit the channel value instead of the event?
What I would like to do is replace the 120 value with 127, which I believe is sound on so Dim Pro will play the midi file, where it's mute now.
    Thanks Wyndham

    Hi wyndham,

You may find it easier to add plugin MIDI filters to the MIDI tracks FX bin. This has the ability to exclude/include whatever events you want so that you don't have to waste a lot of time editing. I'm in Linux at the moment so cannot be more specific other than to say that this is a MIDI plugin.

    Regards,
    Dave Clark

P.S. I'm not paying a lot of attention to these forums any more, so pardon any lack of response.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to respond, but wouldn't you know it, I think it was a bad midi cable. I changed cables and everything worked as it should.
I did go into events view and tweaked some controls just to hear what would happen, worked fine.
Thanks again, just shows there are more than afew things that can color ouw perception of what we think we see. Again, thanks Wyndham

I'm using Wusikstation 3.1.8 and now 4.2.2 with no playback or distortion issues

    Take Care
