Entering registration code problem
Hi, I searched on registration problems but there are so many hits I couldn't find the answer to this one, though I'm sure it's come up so sorry for repeating it. I registered online, received code, and the program won't let me enter the code saying I'm not logged in as administrator. I'm the only user and have assigned and re-assigned administrator privileges to myself. Any help on getting the dang code into the program so it doesn't self-destruct? I'm running out of days!! Thanks bunches in advance, southpaw

Thanks, Beagle, will try tonight. I'm using Vista home edition--any idea why the software doesn't recognize my current user priveleges? Should I clear the registry?

i've seen that happen several times on xp systems as well. I don't know why it does that - something with MS - don't know if doing anything to the registry will work or not.

here is an easier way...... close program and get to desktop. put mouse over icon and right click. In drop down box choose run as admin.... that'll do it...... it's a little vista trick that no one tells you about........

Touching or doing anything with the registry is bad...one thing i learned in my microsoft class. Unless you are an expert with that then go ahead but if not, which i am not either then let it be.

Final Word on Registering MC4 with Vista--- 1. (fyi to Mr. Beagle) no creating of new accounts with admin status will solve this, i.e. allow entering of registration code 2. In the "user account" dialog box accessed from control panel, there is an option to turn on or off "user account control" altogether. You must turn off user account controls altogether, then reboot, and you can enter registration code, and it never asks for it again. You can then change your status back to "administrator" for all other functions.

That was good for a laugh this morning! Great timing. I'm helping 3 women pack their mom's house, so a laugh is good!
