Moving Dimension / Rapture Samples to Another Drive?
Hi guys,
I would like to move the Dimension Pro data to another location (my sample drive) - is it just the "Multisamples" and "Programs" folders I have to move, or do I also need to move "Elements", "Tunings", "Sample Pool", and "MIDI" folders too?
I think then it should be a simple registry edit to set the new location.
What about Rapture? Can I move those samples to another drive too? I haven't been able to find any docs about that...
Thanks!
Martin

Sorry - one further question. In the registry for Dimension there are "Contents Folder" and "Multisamples Folder" keys - should I change both?
Thanks,
Martin

Someone might have a more conveinent(sp) answer for you, but I would just reinstall them using your new directory, that way you know it was a clean move.

Look at the article
"Expression Engine Multisample Relocation"
on the Project5 Wiki in the Virtual Instruments section. It has information for Rapture, Dim Pro, and several other Cakewalk synthesizers built on the same engine to help with those registry keys for file relocation.
There is also
tweakDimension
for Dimension and Dimension Pro (only tested on Windows XP--don't know what it will do on Vista; does not work with Dimension LE).

+1 for this excellent information. It should be a sticky on this forum.
