weird midi editing problem

win Xp Pro all updates
Sonar 8.3.1
E-Mu 1820m latest drivers
BFD2

when editing midi notes in the Piano Roll, sometimes a copied midi note when dragged to a different key will not fire on playback. More specifically, in my instance of BFD2 w/ Glamoflage Pack, I dragged a crash cymbal midi note in Sonar to a different cymbal. The different drum sounds fired off as they should when dragging the note across the oncreen keyboard. But upon playback, no note sounds. I established no other clips lie below the clip I'm editing. I have to actually enter Record mode and play record the new desired note into the timeline before it actually fires off during playback. This is not right. A bug, perhaps with BFD2?

Did the midi channel of the note change? Also, try using a different synth.
