Tracks

Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and VERY new to the recording thing. I have watched the tutorials and have successfully put down some tracks. My question is this. My first track I laid down was an acoustic guitar and it worked fine. I right clicked and opened another track with some licks on it and opened a third for vocals. Everything is there and playing fine but I dont know how to view the tracks seperately. When I record it looks as if it is recording on top of the previous track. When I have watched other people record on thier computers there were always seperate wave tracks for each performance. It's OK to laugh now :) Like I said I am a newbie and trying to learn. If anyone knows what I'm not doing right feel free to share your expertise! OK you can stop laughing now! :) Mike

Are you picking the new track, and arming it to record, while un-arming(??) the original track? Look for the easy answers first...

Yes Janet. I just posted that to Youtube last week. I had a recording studio in Cleveland do the recording though. Now that I have moved I have to try to learn to record stuff myself.

Well thanks Beagle for the nice comment. I try to use all my gifts from above. Adoption is truly one of the greatest acts of love. I wish you lived closer. I would love to sit down and collaborate with you. I have many christian based songs that I have wrote and played in our worship team. I pray all goes well in the adoption process.
PS. Next time I will warn you of tearjerkers(Bambi gets me everytime)
