Use Freq instead of Sync. Click on the waveform in the LFO display, and Shift+drag it to offset the initial phase.

Can you copy the LFO and paste its shape into the StepGens?

Apologies, Francesco. I've been working out-of-town for much of the past month.
PM box cleared, and I'll write to you this weekend (from a reliable 'net connection ).

That's a cool approach, Tom. In this case, though, wouldn't you still be restricted to a Freq or Sync decision?

I suppose that one 'solution' would be to do the math on the frequency-BPM conversion. 120 beats per minute, for example. Reduce that to a common unit of measure (seconds, for both BPM and Hertz). Two beats a second, or one beat every half-second. Set your LFO to a Freq of 2 Hz. (cycles per second). That's only going to work, though, if the tempo remains constant throughout the entire song project.
i guess theres no way to do it when the lfo is tempo synced......
When I face that situation, I turn to the EGs and force them to act like LFOs.

In the image below, I set up the Cut1 filter EGs to mimic LFOs. An envelope generator will always trigger from note on. It can also be tempo-sync'ed. In these examples, the Sync is set to 1 beat, over a Depth of two octaves. Create a handful of nodes, and adjust the segments between them to a waveform shape. Sine, triangle, 50% duty (square), 25% duty (pulse), sawtooth down & up are illustrated.

To make life easier with Sync, set the Snap toggle in the EG's right-click context menu. Make the last node into a sustain point ("S" on the Qwerty). Create a node close to the "default" 0.00 node, press "L" on the Qwerty, and drag it over the top of the "default" node. There's your loop point.

The EG will now act like an LFO. Triggered from note on, through all of the nodes to the sustain point.
If the note is still held, the EG returns to the loop point, and continues repeating in sync to tempo.

One thing to watch for: the Depth amount. LFOs are bi-directional. An LFO Depth of 1200 will swing 1200 cents above, and 1200 cents below, the modulator's base value. When you use an EG, you'll want the midpoint (0.500 level) to represent the center value. So, in this example, double the Depth to 2400 cents (the entire range of the LFO's "swing"), and adjust the Cut1 frequency knob accordingly.

    Edited for clarity.
