Xlutop Chainer rocks even more than I realized

Okay, I've had Chainer for months, and I've learned to use it to build stacks of synths and effects. Last night I discovered two more features that are very cool.

Chainer VSTi allows you to host VST effects from within a VSTi, so you can send MIDI notes, or any other output from a MIDI track, to a VST effect, not just a VST instrument. Very cool.

Even cooler: I realized last night that Chainer has 10 different channels. (Duh.) You can load up to 10 VSTs or VST instruments into any channel, and dig this: you can route audio output from one or more channels to another channel before it goes to the main output. So you can set up one channel with a bunch of effects, like compression and reverb, and route stacks of instruments through it. It's like a big buss setup within a VSTi (though not quite as flexible as Sonar's buss setup, where you can add as many sends as you need to any track or buss). You can save the whole setup as a Chainer preset, which is a pretty easy way to handle a very complex chain of synths and effects.

This is cool.

H.. you propably mean Xlutop Chainer? - http://www.xlutop.com/

A free one quite similiar product is CTAF's MultiFXVST - http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1068.html

BTW, couple more, maybe even cooler ones which you could use instead of Xlutop Chainer are:

EnergyXT VST and VSTi - http://www.xt-hq.com/download/ (maybe the old version 1.x is nicer)
    ART Teknika Console - http://console.jp/en/
    Plogue Bidule - http://www.plogue.com/

You can load these as VST or VSTi and then do what ever you like to ...

Yup. Xlutop indeed. Will correct the thread title to so reflect.

Energy XT is more expensive, it is not? Also probably higher overhead, given that it's a sequencer as well as a VST host?

I believe I tried MultiFXVST, didn't have a lot of luck with it. I'll take another look.

    Thanks, LR
