RXP Problem

So, I finally uninstalled SOnar 6 PE off my computer since 7 PE has been going well, but now, RXP won't work in either Sonar or Project5. I have the REX SHared Library version 1.5.4 yada in the RXP folder, the Project5 folder, the SOnar 7 PE folder, and also the Propellerheads folder under the Program file.

Still won't work and this is the version that is supposed to work...any help would be appreciated.

If you have SOnar and Project5 and RXP works in both, where does the REX Shared Library file need to be (and not be) and what version are you using?

Try your System32 directory in the Windows folder, although it is supposed to work if it is in the RXP folder...

    Thanks, got it straightened out.

Does anyone know how to point the browser to a different folder somewhere else on a different drive, or does everything need to be in the contents folder?

Hi all, I think I'm having the same problem here but I can't seem to get round it. Originally I had Reason 3 and Sonar 5 installed and RXP worked fine. Recently I upgraded to Reason 4 and Sonar 7 (without uninstalling Sonar 5) and now when I open RXP I am unable to load any REX files into it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the RXP plugin a few times now (by deleting the RXP folder and removing it in the plug-in manager) and I've unistalled Sonar 5 and done a complete reinstall of Sonar 7 now but to no avail.

After reading this thread I've installed the latest REX shared library from the Propellerheads website (I've just checked it to see if I could get the version number but couldn't find it) and I've copied both the rxp and rex shared library the .dll's into the Reason, Sonar and System32 folders but still it's not working. Could somebody please give me some advice as to where I might be going wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

You want the older version of the REX Shared Library (1.5.4), as I don't believe RXP will work with the newest one...the only problem is that R4 will replace any older version in System32 with the newer one whenever it is run, so I think the solution is to put the older version in the RXP folder with the RXP dll itself.

Wicked mate thanks for that I'll give it a try when I get home tonight. I'm usually competent at troubleshooting and solving problems like this but this one just messed with my head!
