Try turning up the Trim in the track view.

I like my levels fairly matched up. So if i have a track that is unusually low,
I select the track, highlight my area, then I goto PROCESS AUDIO GAIN,
I usually addd +3db or +6db of gain. OR MORE!
I`ve been happy with this versus boosting up the trim, ( yes i use the trim slider too )
there maybe no diff, i just try to keep my mixes 0db referenced.
    See if you like, goodluck.

Have you actually even bothered to read the Manual or the help file ?? Jeeez !! Press F1. If you're stuck on this level of question boy are you going to have fun with the rest of the Program. You should have seriously considered Cakewalk Home Studio and saved yourself some $$$ and the Forum some..... aaah .. Whatever

Be carefull when normalizing or increasing the gain of the vocal track. it obviously was recorded too low and when you increase the gain or volume your noise floor will go up also. just something to think about.
Before you do anything, clone the track, just incase you do something destructive and dont like the results, then you can always have the original track

Robert, don't pay any mind to Dan. He's probably just having a bad day.
    Welcome to the forum.

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

ChefMike, DonB and CJay all offer good advice. You "received" the tracks. As in, you did not record them?
If you received them, then CJay's gain answer is the best, including the clone/backup. You must listen for noise.

If you recorded them, then recheck the gain structure from the mic to the disk.

All that being said, I keep my stuff down -12 to -16 or so.
No real religious rules here, just far away from -0.
Plenty of headroom. We have lots of it to spare, so use it.
This is where the fidelity resides. Away from -0.

You can always smash the crap out of it later with compression/limiting.
