Using Studio Instruments as a soft Synth in Sonar.

Is there any way to use SI much as I would TTS-1 in Sonar? That is: I have a midi track which I then route to the appropriate TTS-1 instrument.

I cannot seem to figure this out with SI. Is it even capable of doing this?

Sonar 7 Studio BTW

Hi, the process is simple. Install SI as a soft synth in Sonar (all clear in the manual) and then select as many instances as you need for your tracks.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that SI does not function properly and needs a long awaited update (deafening silence from Cakwalk), so it is probably not really worth the effort.

If you're serious about your music, Invest in Dimpro instead.

SI's are not multi-timbral like TTS-1 so you can't use it this way. One instance of the synth = one sound.

I'm not sure about the issues he is referring to. But I have a Vista related issue with the SI's. Every time I open an SI the UAC kicks in and wants me to register the project as an administrator. I emailed Tech Support on this, and no matter how I install ( as administrator) it still comes up with this prompt. (I tried this a bunch of times) I don't want to have to run Sonar as an administrator all the time. This is the only plug that gives me this problem. So I don't use these synths anymore. (I have Dim Pro which gives me all those sounds anyway)

Exactly what does not work right?

I've used it a few times ans so far nothing has gone wrong in a "normal" project file.

This snuck in while I was reposnding (or I did not see it).

I have not used it as multi-timbral. My machine is well powered enough that I can have four instances opend as well as an instance of Dim Pro and get the job done (so far at least).
