Recording Software/hardware problem

I'm not sure if this is the right section but...
I bought a multimix 16 USB 2.0 and i'm using Adobe audition 3 to do multitrack recording. It works fine as far as setting the hardware and choosing what mics go to which audio tracks. The problem I'm having is listening to the recording after it is recorded. In the hardware settings the input and output are the Alesis USB device and I can't make the input the alesis usb device and the output the sound card. So is there anyway I can listen to the recording without having to change the hardware device to the soundcard after recording?

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n' roll. - AC/DC

yes. plug some headphones into the alesis headphone sockets, the multimix IS a soundcard and replaces the onboard sound...
