1. Better Synths or Mastering - Both, but the synths ability to create uniqe sounds are more important I think
2. Is it realy worth $200 - Yes, In my opinion its worth $500 and countless hrs. sitting at the PC tweeking (I enjoy tweeking anyway so I may be a little biased on tweeking)
3. Way better than any free synth I have ever used.

Sonar 3, Sonar 6, Rapture, Korg Legacy Digital, BFD Lt, Midi OX, MrTramp

I just downloaded an updated Virus mod from patcharena (about to install it). Is this the mod you are talking about?

Looks like it Shad, the author of it is here also (fr4ncesco)

hopefully it should include instructions, I got to know about it from the kvr site. there are instructions on the web also.

It does. Pretty good instructions too, and really strait forward.

This new mod has about twice the patches and waves apparently.

Credits state:
HQ waves provided by Dusty - The NeoPhysik

Sound design by:
CC-Purno
Cold C
fr4ncesco (who posted here I see)

Cheers
Shad

If you have not done so, download both demos and give them a try.

This is what I did, and ultimately decided for my needs, Z3ta did everything rapture did, and cost three times less. Like you I desire electronica/trance sounds, and Z3ta seems perfectly suited to that.

Ultimately I may also buy Rapture, hard to say as there or other things I would prefer good sample instrument such as NI Komplete.

Holy ****, I just tried the demos, and I'm completed sold by the presets in Zeta. Looks like Rapture is a lot better for programming, but since I'm not very good at that anyway, I'm gonna get Zeta.
