SFZ Format documentation

Wats the most complete documantation for tweeking with sfz files? I seen somewhere their was a book on it. Specificaly for Rapture would be good.

I was playing with B Rocks collection the other day and it sparked an interest.

on it, thanks. I was playing with your sfz files and wow their intense. I cut back on most of them to about 6-12 steps insted of 16. Plenty to do with just 8.

That will cut way back on the polyphony requirements, too, and save on your system resources. When you drop down the number of scanned wavetables in a file, it's not a bad idea to adjust the sequence length and overall frequency of the sequencer. Otherwise, you may end up with 'dead spots', or scan rates at half-speed.

Some of the sequence types (GlitchSeq, TremSeq, VariSeq) use that as an effect, but if you want to adjust the default rates & lengths, look under the sections labeled // ****Sequencer Base Values****. Most of the lengths are lfo15_steps=16, or lfo15_steps=32. Change that to the number of wavetables you have loaded (6-12). If you need to double or triple the core frequency, change lfo15_freq=.1 to lfo15_freq=.2 or lfo15_freq=.3.

Of course, leaving '_steps' alone can also lead to interesting effects, and the rates are pre-programmed to a number of common MIDI messages.

Ya hat one got me when I first started fidaling around and tryed to lighten the load. Couldn't fuiger out why I had Dead silence on parts when I changed how many I had loaded untill I looked at the whole file.

I'm in the process of reconfuigering wher my sfz and wave files are in a more managable directory structure at the moment. My wave files are gona be organized by Avg Frequency, THD and a few other Ideas not quite fuigered out yet. Their are sooo many wave files its not funny. Trying to find just what I need is tough at the moment for me. I'mn also trying to create some drum SFZ files for SD2.
