Can Sonar 7 read these filetypes..?

Is there anything in Sonar 7 that can read .exs, .fxp, .kit, .nki or .sxt files?

fxp, kit, nki look like plugin settings files for things like Kontakt. SONAR itseslf wont read these files but some of the plugins might. Try Dimension and some of the other synths. fxp files are used by Kontakt to arrange how samples are played in a set so its not likely to translate well into some other program as you'd need the samples that are referred to as well.

Can't hurt to try other than maybe another program writing to an fxp fle for example and corrupting the data so that the original program that made the file will no longer be able to access it.

.fxp files are the standard file extension for VST plug-in presets. So those files are probably plug-in presets.

.exs is the file format of Logics EXS Sampler and .nki is Kontakt instrument file. Both would require the referred samples. Kontakt can import .exs, too.

So if I understand everyone correctly, nothing that actually ships with Sonar 7 can open any of those files? They require either Kontakt or Logic?

Yeah, that's right because those file types are proprietary for those specific plug-ins. What good would it do for it to open a Kontakt preset file if you didn't have Kontakt?

It also can't open DOC, PDF, XLS, INI, REG, .PPT, .TXT, and a lot of other unrelated file types either.

Never heard about .kit or .sxt files. For fxp you´d need the exact vst plugin as they are presets. As far as i know you can import .exs and .nki in Halion, too and perhaps some other sampler. But not in any plug that ships with Sonar.

.Kit is a file extention for Native instruments Battery. So those containers contain drumsamples of a whole 'KIT' .
