a newbie AGAIN

okay, I have just installed CWMC4 on an Emachine 2.66 gHz 512 Mb ram using a Creative Labs AWE32 soundcard and so far when I try to open my old CWMC songs in the MC4 program all I get is a very heartbreaking loud static-type noise. I ran the wave profiler and tried a few things but I can't get music, just noise. ?????? Kevin

Thank God for evolution

the AWE32 is a horrible card for trying to do recordings with - it's not designed for recording, but mainly just for playing windows sounds. my best advice is to upgrade your soundcard (see my website for recommendations)

in the meantime you can try a couple of things:
    go to http://www.asio4all.com
    download and install asio4all
change to ASIO driver mode: OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED>DRIVER MODE = ASIO
    close and restart MC

if that doesn't work, then change to MME driver mode:
    OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED>DRIVER MODE = MME
    close and restart MC
    LET THE WAVE PROFILER RUN

hopefully one of those will stop the problem you're having.

When you get the new SC that Beagle was talking about...you should have no problem opening and playing your old version MC files in MC4.
