Recording with a Acoustic Guitar Pickup

Hello,

Before everyone starts posting the only way to record acoustic guitar is with a microphone, I know and accept that.

I want to lay down my acoustic tracks with my LR Baggs M1 active PU for it's convenience. I live in an environment that I can't control the noise and I like not having to worry about mic placement.

I was wondering if someone on this board can recommend recording methods for acoustics with a pickup or products such a DI or preampto go with it?

Thank you!

You can get great results without a preamp with that pickup. It's active so it has plenty of signal. It's the same one I use. Just a little eq to taste after you record.

Since you already know that you "can't use a pickup to record acoustic guitar"<G>...

I have a "Para Acousitc DI", made by L.R. Baggs, that I find indispenible when I do plug in an acoustic instrument It's remarkably flexible, and will get you about as close to realistic as I've been able to get, and it'll take you in a BUNCH of other directions too<G>!

Actually, I have a pair of them, because one of my guitars came equipped with the a Baggs dual element pickup. It's still not quite the same as a good guitar in a good space in front of a good microphone, but it gets a lot closer than I ever thought it could!
