Sonar /Reason4/ Hello

So I have some questions about Sonar to Reason....but first Ill introduce myself better. I have been lurking and posting a little. Im Jason, I live in Bend Oregon and work doing CAD design and production management. I write some cheesey acoustic songs that Ill be sharing soon. I enjoy building instruments, skateboarding and hiking with my family.

When I open a project in Sonar HSXL that has Reason plugged in , the Reason rack always comes up empty and I have to load the song. How can I tie them back together?

How do I record the Reason file to audio?

Can I run an audio signal through Reasons Mastering Suite?

How many of you are using Reason? Like it? Love it??

Any other thoughts on Reason/Sonar or tips and tricks?

Thanks y'all

You can't, you have to save (and load) the Sonar project and Reason rack separately. But save the file in Reason as SameasSonarProjectName.rns so you can keep track of what file belongs to which project

How do I record the Reason file to audio?

    See the Props link below

Can I run an audio signal through Reasons Mastering Suite?

If you've insert the Reason rack from Sonar as a Rewire device then by default all your Rewire devices will be running out of the Mastering suite back to Sonar. You can also bypass the Mastering suite by flipping to the back of the Rack and hooking directly into the 'Hardware' device. Only the first channel pair returns to Sonar as Stereo (despite appearances to the contrary) if you want to set up other channels you'll have to set up two separate mono channels (Audio Tracks) in Sonar.

One here, I love it. There seem to be quite a few advocates here too.

    Yes start with the link below;

Then search 'Reason' on this forum.

    Thanks Jon!
We may be crossed on the audio through Reason. Im wondering if I can take my master Out from sonar and send it through Reasons Mastering Suite and then back out?
    Should I?

you're looking at a feedback loop if you do that...

No, you can't. Reason has no audio inputs!

Never tried it personally - so I couldn't say. But I believe there is actually a second program that will also do it (again through the rebirth input).
