Really nice job on this one. I love the piano, mixed with the background sounds, and the steady rhythm! The song builds throughout, has some nice changes, and remains interesting...it would make a nice addition to P5 radio. This is a very enjoyable listen.

Nice mix of elements, wrench. Piano carries the weight for the most part, and the kinda bossa nova drums (?) work well with it, and then the weird little sound in the background give it a modern feel. The whole song develops well on top of those first elements.

The name is funny - I put up "Venus in Retrograde" on my Soundclick before I changed the name to "Venus on the half shell." Similiar name, different music.

I have been persuaded to have another go at this

That may or may not come to another version
There are schools of songwriting that want melody and A|B|chorus|bridge|A|B|chorus type structure, rather than just layering up subtle soundscapes
why should any of us limit ourselves?

    thanks for listening

I've noticed you always have good structure with your pieces, and if I remember right I think you said you think out the chords before-hand?

I do like the overall feel and love the piano as usual, one suggestion, I really felt the tune would benefit with a snare that has a nice pop, placed in this one!
Don't get me wrong I do like the drums, I just felt with the hi-hats with how they were it needed a light snare!

    Nice tune!

Split album from myself and :10: (Sean Forsythe) can be found at this link :)
