AKG new C214 Mic

just sometimes too much money to justify a C414...
today I received a newsletter from AKG Acoustics..

AKG launches new C 214 microphone

AKG's legendary C 414 microphone needs no introduction. It's a tool found in most recording studios and has been used on thousands of hit records. Today, AKG announced the new C 214 Recording Microphone at the AES show in Amsterdam.

The new C 214 is designed as a cost-effective alternative to the high-end, industry-leading C 414 family. This new microphone uses the same 1-inch dual-capsule as the legendary C 414 in a single-diaphragm, cardioid-only design. The result is a class-leading performance close to that of the famous C 414 B-XLS.

FWIW, I believe Dean R was looking to sell his (fairly new) C414.
You might see what he wants for it...

    New, the C414 is ~$1000...
It sounds good to awesome on nearly anything.

    Best Regards,
