Master Bus

Just a quickie - I've got an acoustic guitar audio track panned dead centre. It was recorded direct into the left side of soundcard, yet it seems to be coming out of both speakers - are the audio outputs I route thru the Master Bus automatically split to the left and right outputs of the soundcard? ( BTW I didn't select the stereo option input in the track view when I recorded it)

A mono signal panned dead centre should come out of both speakers Rob, so everything seems to be as it should..or did I misunderstand the question?

This is normal...when you open the track there is an icon there that lets you select stereo or mono....the default is mono. So all is normal. If you are recording a guitar with a stereo chorus effect like from a POD...you would use both outputs of the POD and go signal in to R & L on your soundcard. You click on the stereo icon and it records both tracks (R & L ) into one audio track in MC. For recording a mono signal, you can select the stereo input and it will record R&L tracks but they are exactly the same...in otherwords...you're wasting hard drive space.
