A couple of bugs?

Dudes:

I've been experiencing a couple of anomalies - Sonar PE 7.0.2:

1) Transpose Audio sometimes doesn't work.

A status bar briefly appears as though work had been done but the pitch remains the same. Sometimes this is followed by the error: 'Unable to save the entire file, disk may be full.' The disk is nowhere near full and no attempt was made (by me) to Save the file. Thinking the file might be corrupt, I tried moving the clip to a new file but the same thing happens.

2) Sometimes I can't get the Snap feature to work.

In the Clips Snap dialog I set:

Musical Time: Checked
Move By: Measure
Strength: Med
Snap to Crossings: Checked

Same settings in the PRV Mode - and yet there are times when I can click anywhere with those settings in both dialogs and the cursor does not snap to the selected increment.

Has anyone else been experiencing these?

Thanks - rev

and the cursor does not snap to the selected increment.

Based on your settings, you mean it doesn't snap "by" the selected increment, correct? Just want to make sure you're not confusing the effect of having Move By selected as opposed to Move To.

Another possible source of "unintuitive" beahvior of snap settings is having some "Landmarks" checked. But in S7, you have to switch temporarily to Move To mode in order to uncheck them.

Could you be running short on VM?

I believe that I've seen that same disk full message when, in fact, Windows/Sonar was short on VM Swap space (not disk free space).

This situation is easily fixed by increasing the size of your Windows "Paging File" a gigabyte or two in the System control applet, and rebooting Windows.

    Brundle:
No, I'm not confused about the difference between 'To' and 'By' and on those occasions where I can't make it work I've actually tried every permutation in both boxes, just to be thorough. When it's misbehaving, the only way I've found to correct it is to close and reopen the file.

    kwgm:
That sounds promising but I have a massive paging file and the clip I'm trying to transpose is less than a measure. I'll try closing everything else possible and retrying the operation. I could be short of RAM in some instances where thirsty plug-ins like Kontakt are present.
