WIDOWMAKER - Alice Sweet Alice's FINAL REVIEW NEEDED!!!

OK everyone,

20 hours in the past 2 days redoing this and I'm spent. Please help me finish this project with your thoughts on this mix.

    I listened (as always) with the Bose headphones. I kinda like the way the kick and low toms are punching me in the head. I like the way it's building. I like the tone on that lead guitar with the wah. I think it's perfect for most of the song, but maybe for the break at 3:50? Drop the wah and go with something more "in your face" more aggressive, more biting. The wah gives it almost an “accompaniment feel”, which seems to fit really well with the whole theme up to there.

    But I would turn that lead guitar "loose" right there at 3:50 and put it “in your face.” Like maybe a tone batsbrew would get? Because the song feels like it’s building to that point, and then at that point, it’s not really WHAM! And it feels like it should just punch me in the nose right there.

    That's really a minor comment, on the whole, very nice mix! Powerful.

    Scott, I sure can't offer any suggestions as to the mix--but it sounds great to me. I agree with Robby about the guitar at 3:50 (I was listening for it and tend to agree.) Funny, if I would have heard that you spent 20 hours in 2 days on the mix a couple months ago, I wouldn't have had a clue what you were talking about it. Now I do and it makes me tired just thinking about it. Hang in there! This is great stuff!

    Scott,

    Cool song. I'm listening on iPod head phones and the mix sounds fine. I can hear all instruments clearly and there is no masking. EQ feels right. I like the guitar at 3:50 where it is, but that's me. I really like how you wrote the harmonies for vocals. Gave the song an excellent feel to fit the lyrics.

    Sweet, I'm sending it off then. NO sense in fixing what ain't broke!!!!

    BTW, I checked the File Stats, and it said 39:41:15 since May 17th. Most of that was this week!

    Yikes!!!! I need to take a break!!!!
