Space Alone Movie

This is a video I scored for a competition a while back. I did not win and didn't care. I did it just for the practice.

I did not make the video, just the score. The instruments are all GPO and was rendered thru Sonar 7.

I am very proud of getting the little guys yawn with a Bassoon. That took a while to get right. I also tried to get the shooting stars with the flute each time.

This is far from my best work, but was fun doing.

Here it is

Any comments?

Wow--really sounds good to me! I can't even imagine how you do some of that stuff! lol I have a hard enough time figuring out real (midi) instruments. This is great!

I don't remember how I did all of this, but I did do some weird stuff with a few of the instruments to get the right sounds.

I am watching the mars landing right now and the guy said that the lander has 12 thrusters for the final descent. They asked him what happens if one of the thrusters fail and he said that that is no problem because the other 11 will take the landing craft right to the crash site.

I am not even going to proof read this one!!! lol

    Thanks Janet

Playing around with videos is a ton of fun. Finding them is a different story.

    Janet

No crash site this time. Looks like NASA did it right.

    Thanks again

Did you notice that the planets were depicted in counter orbits around the star? I don't think that's possible. I believe when the gas coalesces in to a solar system, it begins to rotate, but it must rotate in one direction.

But I liked the score :-)

    Robby,

All we can do is base the physics on what we can see. So far, the only solar system we have seen that has more than 1 planet is our own. You would think that they should all go in the same direction, but Phoebe, a moon of Saturn, orbits in the opposite direction that most of Saturn's other moons orbit.

But Moons orbiting a planet are different from planets around suns. I wonder about all the stars in our galaxy and whether or not some of them orbit "backwards". I don't know.

Regardless, that's a good eye because I never noticed it before you said it.

    Thanks for the listen

LOL! Yeah, I'm pretty sure Phoebe was captured as she passed by too closely, but not close enough to impact ;-) Still in all, I ENJOYED THE TUNE! And I enjoy watching the Science channel, history and all that fun stuff. Astronomy and physics phacinate me.

Yeah, I’ll comment – you get the gold star. This was super, I think your score complimented the story perfectly. A terrific job all around – subtle, not over-blown, playful where it should be, somber when it should be – just wonderful. Did you find it easy to use GPO?

    Hey, I think you won!

    Ditto!

It was just as much fun scoring it.

Thanks again. The Phoenix has landed!!

IMO you cannot find a better product for the money than GPO. THe owner of the company is a great guy that goes out of his way for his customers. Last weekend he gave out a phone number and said to everyone on his site to call him to just chat. How many CEO's do that? He looks at his business as a community project and is always asking for input from the users. I own GPO and JABB and this summer plan on buying his new Piano.

SO yes, not only is GPO fairly easy to use, I highly recommend it.

    Michael

I am very happy you enjoyed this one and most importantly, that you let me know it.

    Thanks guys.
