Problem with sound out of every channel of a 7.1 soundcard

Hello,

I have MC Pro24. I’m having a problem getting my new computer to play tracks out of every channel of an onboard Realtek HD 7.1 soundcard.

Per Support on this website, it’s set to MME on the advanced audio tab. The sound quality if great but all the sound only comes out of the main stereo outputs (1-2, front left & right). The drivers tab only lists “Realtek HD Audio Output” (no channel numbers) under output drivers.

When it’s set to ASIO, WDM/KS or default, sound comes out of every output (1-8) but it sounds terrible (distorted, cracking). The drivers tab lists “Realtek HD Audio Output 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8”.

I updated the soundcard drivers with no success. I never had this problem with my old computer, which had a Soundblaster 7.1 soundcard.

Please help.

Thanks

that probably means that your realtek's MME drivers won't output to all 8 channels. it's a function of the soundcard drivers, not cakewalk.
