Whats the difference between TDM and Native?

Hey all.
I'm looking into some auto tune software by Antares and would like to know what the differences between a TDM plugin and Native plugin are. Specifically, because Native is cheaper, what does TDM have that Native does not? Links to the musicians friend pages below. Thanks all.

    TMD plugs are only useable under the ProTools environment. They are designed to split out the user interface and the actual processing algorithms, the latter of which run on a set of DSP based boards that plug into your PC under the ProTools hardware assisted systems. They would be useless to you if you aren't running a ProTools HD system.
