DS864 Mon Mode?

Hi Everyone....

A midi veteran here, but realtively new to cakewalk. Started with P5 and then graduated to Sonar Home Studio 6.

I'm wondering, is there a way to put a program or sample(s) in monophonic mode in the DS864.

It didn't seem obvious the last time I looked at it.

My application:

to Simulate the behavior of Hardware Drum samplers (MPC or SP-1200)....

I can use the velocity for the main sample mapping....

but in some cases I want to stretch a snare or bass drum over a range of keys.

This is much easier to do in the DS864, but from a performance standpoint, I need the samples to truncate (mute)eachother when played in rapid succession.

I hope this make sense.

Thanks,

Alex

since you never got a reply...
i think you're looking for "exclusive" mode on sample zones... but as far as i can tell, DS864 doesn't offer it. your best bet is to load up a few pads in Velocity (or some other sample player) with the same sample and just pitch it up/down as you like to get the desired results.

I think you're talking about a choke group in a synth when the configuration is such that one note chokes off or mutes another one...used in drum synths like Velocity for sure.  I don't remember seeing such an option in DS864.
