Using Sonar for multimedia shows

Would Sonar Producer 7 be a good platform to control a multimedia show?

We are thinking of doing a Christmas production revolving around live musicians and actors that would utilize some prerecorded sound effects, some video, and a synced light show. I already use Sonar 7 Producer for my DAW, but have not experimented at all with video tools in it. I have Sony Vegas for video editing, but need a program that would allow me to insert the video and sync it to the live music and sound effect tracks. Is it possible to do this all within Sonar, or will I have to run a seperate program, or computer for the video. I already have ideas about the lights and running click tracks. I am in need of some video ideas, but all input is welcome.
Thank you,
Brian

I'm facing an issue with this precise situation. Sonar works great with synched video for one song but when you build playlists the "second monitor" ie-your projection video output will resize to non-fullscreen mode. There's no way around this that I know of, at least in SP7. That was confirmed by Sonar tech support.

Unless you want the entire theater seeing your desktop and mouse moves to resize video window (decidedly a buzzkill!) then it's back to the drawing board. BTW- Ableton Live does this perfectly but I can't abide by another steep learning curve.

    Good luck!

Any progress on this matter with X1? Using playlist, I want to play back project's video in sync with midi automation and audio samples on live performances. Haven't tested it yet. Also, will the time indicator in video view be visible on external screen?
