Make sure you're recording the tapes onto an audio track in MC. Audio won't record on a MIDI track. Audio tracks have a squiggly line icon and MIDI tracks have a MIDI plug icon.
With everything connected, can you hear the tape player through the computer? If you're hearing nothing, check the Windows mixer to see if the inputs for audio, mic, wave, whatever, that nothing is muted and the volume sliders are up at least 3/4 to the top.
If you do have sound through the computer but can't record, check the audio track that your sound card is listed for input and output. Use a stereo track. Arm the track by clicking the R. Play the tape and watch the audio level meter so it doesn't go into the red. If it hits the red a little, that's okay, but if it goes too far up, you'll get clipping.
Once a good level is set, rewind the tape, press play on the tape deck and the red record button on the transport toolbar.
You probably know all that, but I just wanted to review the minimum number of steps to get a recording when everything is working.

I have no problem with that if you say it, but every time I say something like that with my wife around I get a sharp slap to the back of my head. I have developed a keen sense of "yes dear" or "no dear" or when it is best to say nothing at all.
For your continuing problem, I am at a loss, but I've found in some cases it is best to unhook everything, return all the software to default settings, restart the computer and go back to step one, do each step as if you've never done it before, and see what happens.
Seriously, might seem counterproductive, but sometimes it helps. It is usually a simple thing missed, and then overlooked, that causes the most problems

dalo - uncheck the USB HEADSET in the DRIVERS but NOT the conexant. leave it checked ONLY. then go to your AUDIO track and select the input from the little pull down menu (with the little "I" on it) and choose the INPUT for your soundcard. ARM the track by clicking on the "R" (it will turn red) and then press record on the transport.

OK, finally see that I got the transfer from cassette to computer/Music Creator 4, but I can't hear it at all. I've checked audio options, drivers MME ( yes it's checked ), then it doesn't matter which boxes I check for headset ( and it is listed ), or conxant ( which is sound card and listed). I still can't hear it.

Why do I feel like the monkey in the family who could hear no sound. I can see it!!!!!

What's wrong here?

I did finally get the cassette player to communicate with the computer and Music Creator 4, and can see where it transferred, but still can't hear it. I checked to see outputs and inputs ( output is headset) and input is sound card. It looks like it worked, but I just can't hear it.

I've had my ears working for a long time, so I know it's not that.

I've also been a system analyst with computers for a large company, but been
years since I've had problems with software, but maybe I'm just out of
practice.
