Steel Guitar effect

Is there a plugin I can download to get my Guitar Audio track to sound like a Steel Guitar?
I use Sonar 6 Producer.

You can find sample sets of steel guitar. But they won't get as close as using a slide - alternate tunings -volume pedal - lots of practice- judicious editing. I don't think there's any magic box for that.

I've heard a really nice sounding pedal steel in BiaB's RealBand 2008.5 honestly I was amazed at the sound. I think the site is www.pgmusic.com where you can listen to samples of tunes and watch videos on this product...and buy it too if you want.

I've tried a few sound fonts when I could find them...and they either didn't work or sounded horrible. The steel in the RB demo was awesome. Take a listen.

Thanks Guys for your help! I suppose it would be so easy to have Plugins to cure ALL effects problems?
I listened to the sample on BIAB, I thought it was great. I`ll give it some thought.

If you are interested in a plugin there is a killer VSTi Pedal Steel from Wavelore. You can download a free stripped down
version (about 50MB) that does not have all the bells & whistles, but will give you an idea what it can do. There is a bit of a learning curve, as you need to learn certain techniques on the keyboard to get that characteristic Pedal Steel sound. The full version does use Syncrosoft copy protection, BTW.

Check out some of the demo's in particular "This Road". Not only a great song, but showcases that sometimes less is more.
A rather sparse ballad with basically an acoustic guitar, vocals & the Wavelore Pedal Steel VSTi.

Hi Billy Buck, I think that Wavelore download is maybe just a wee bit "TECHIE" for me.
    Thanks anyway.
