NEW to CAKWALK (need help)
I have an offer to buy sonar 6 studio addition but a little werry.
I use the MPC 1000 and have a M-Audio Oxy 61. I want to know if sonar 6 has the capabilities to use MIDI (16 channel). I am trying to use a software as my sound module. See if found out that Reason has a set up where yo ucan use the MIDI device input mode and control up to 16 different sounds playing together. See I want to record the MIDI data into my MPC and switch channels and record something else on another channel.
I know it is possible to perform on Reason. Hope this makes sense?? If you do not understand what I am trying to do watch this clip from youtube
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhuM7gS1fEo
Can anyone help?

Yes
Make sure yuo buy sonar 6 from a reputable retailer. If you dont, you wont be able to get support for it and updates for it and you wont be able to register it

Sonar has unlimited MIDI tracks (with 16 channels on each track). It also has unlimited audio tracks. Much much more powerful than Reason.
You can also rewire Reason into Sonar ... and much more.

what CJ said about buying it from a legit dealer is a must.. as part of what your paying for is the license. As say if I bought my one off CJ it's registered to him and it's not transferable and I wouldn't get any support. maybe you might wait till v8 , as thats coming soon?
you could try a trial, that will work for 1 month to give you an idea of how it works >

as for that video , well they are sequencing it to the mpc..
with sonar in place, you can hook up the mpc + reason (via rewire) and use sonar as your main recording thing. the way reason can be treated is as a rack. so instead of the mpc being the sequencer , sonar is..

will also be of help in setting things up.
