Film Music Project and Albums

I am currently working on a brand new album called The Dramatic War - Tragic Love. It's a story about love and war. I have some samples on myspace.

In addition, I have some other songs that you can listen to in my Podcast section.

Being very long songs, it will take me a while to get through them .

Listening to "Dramatic War", I would have to say you have a nice ambient piece. I was not too fond of the instrument you used for the first solo, but later the flute and trumpet sounded quite good.

The mix sounds very good here. Nothing seems off balance.

    Cheers

    Richard

These are some very nice pieces.

    'What samples are you using?

I do think that in The Dramatic War the violin solo is a bit too dry, but that is also very objective. In this case though it sounds like it almost doesn't fit the 'verb of everything else ( on a second listen it may alos be because of the loudness of that solo compared to the rest of the orchestra. I know how difficult it can be when mixing libraries to get everything to sound right.

These are both just minor things.

Very nice and wecome to the forum. There are not many of us here that do classical so it is nice to see another one around.

Richard - very nice work on this. love the choir sounds - they're really nice. you've done a GREAT job on this. just a few minor things i'm hearing if you are interested:

violin is a little hot in the mix and overpowering, but the sound it excellent (same thing when it comes back in later). I might have given that orchestral hit at 1:55 a lot more power - it came off really weak sounding and after that dramatic pause it would have been really nice to have heard some power behind it - you don't really have enough low end on it- put some UMPH! into that hit! same for the following orchestral hits - maybe not as heavy as the first, but heavier than they are. the electric piano and flute at 3:30 again are hotter than anything else in the mix and are a little overpowering like the violin solo was.

Overall I really enjoyed this it was very good!
