Yet more latency

Yet another latency question. Here is what I am running: Guitar Tracks v3 on a dual core Dell with 2 gb of ram. I have a Audigy2 ZS card that use for playback and an M-AUDIO MobilePre USB device that I use for input. I am using WDM drivers and have the latency turned all the way to 10 msec in the audio options.

I am just doing the basics... I am recording via microphone and the recording is about a half beat off from the metronome. When I try another track, it's about a half beat from the 1st track...

Any suggestions would be great! This is driving me crazy!!!

Thanks in advance,
John

I think your M-Audio driver has native ASIO support, I would set it to ASIO, if you are not getting the option, you may want to go to their site and install the most recent driver.

According to RobertB, it's your soundcard and you need to buy a new one.

Hi John, welcome to the forum

I see our lovable troll Pistolpete has introduced himself to you:

    ORIGINAL: pistolpete

According to RobertB, it's your soundcard and you need to buy a new one.

My best advice is to ignore his ridiculous and useless so-called 'advice'.

Anyway, let us know how you get on with Grant's real advice John.

It's most likely because you're using one soundcard for your input (M-Audio), and a second soundcard for playback (Creative Audigy), you should try hooking your speakers up to the stereo line outputs on the M-Audio device and set GTP3 to use just the one audio device.
