Bank of the Month I @ PatchArena: Rapture

Now here's one cool idea. PatchArena has instituted a Bank of the Month [PA BotM] preset design collaboration.

Every month, a different synth is chosen by a member poll, with a general theme for the patches. In the past month's voting process, Rapture was selected as the inaugural synth. September's BotM theme is "Twisted Oscillators". General information and programming guidelines can be found here.

Also included: a RP BotM Starter Pack, with some sample programs & multisamples that can be used in your preset designs. For those without the full version of Rapture, there's also a link to the Rapture 1.0 demo. Don't forget: Rapture LE users aren't left out of the loop, either. At the end of September, the completed Rapture preset collection will be compiled to a cross-platform installer, and available at PatchArena's DownLoads section.

There's still ten days/2 weekends left to clean up those Rapture presets that you may have floating around. The more people who enter submissions, the better this set is going to be. It's going to be very interesting to see how all this turns out; especially with a variety of individual entries.

So ... what are you waiting for? Let's get cracking. It's a win-win situation. You know that you want to ...

    Tom,

cool. You can upload samples. That's what I'm working on for DimP. Let's see how they sound in Rapt. Hopefully I'll get it up before we leave for a show in Austin.

PS, was just fooling with Rez last night, trying to come up with some things.

    Tom,

I'd love to participate, but I'm not going to be around much this month. Maybe next time?

I'll have to be a spectator on this one. I just finished a complete overhaul/mod on my Epi LP-100... and it is FINALLY the guitar I've always thought it should be (for its price range) and am having too much fun rediscovering the instrument to think about syth patches !

    Thanks for the headsup.

Hey, whatever you can do, folks. Two presets, twenty, or none at all; if that's what you have the time for. I have no idea what the submission responses have been, other than the ones I put up more than a week ago. I don't have any vested interest in this collaboration, other than I'd like to see the idea catch on. Next month will be another synth/effect. I'll only post about the future PA BotM if it's appropriate to these forums.

Time is getting a little short, so if anyone's is stuck at a roadblock, let me know. You can describe your programming situation here in this thread, and I'll do my best to help get you over the hump. If it's a little more involved than a text reply could cover, send me a PM here at the [Cake] forums, and maybe we can set up some kind of file exchange solution.

If that's unnecessary, great. I thought that I'd put the offer on the table in case anyone needs a little nudge in the right direction.

Many thanks to those who managed to contribute. It looks like we're going to end up with a full bank (128 presets).
I'm helping out with testing the installers for Rapture and Rapture LE now. All I can say is ... wow.

    Tom,

look forward to it. I never did get my voices finished. I had some stuff finished for DimPro, but didn't get the samples right for transfer to Rapture.

But I'll be happy to partake of the new stuff.

Shoite, I just saw this thread - I would have loved to have made some - I am assuming it is too late to make any? I have to pay more attention in future!

I tried. But I always re-confirm that programming sounds is not my forte.

Look forward to listening to the bank!
