[Track] "Again & Again" feat. Sara Champie (ambient)

Here is the result of my first collaboration with Sara Champie, another excellent singer/songwriter that I've been fortunate to start working with. It's a very chill/ambient piece. Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome as always.

The song is called "Again and Again" and it is the third track on my mp3 player (192kbps).

Another great tune, Dave. Loving your style and creativity with all your work. Great vocals too!

My only thought is that the pad is a bit loud....... or it could just be the ringing in my ears

    Great work.

    Bestest, Paul

Thanks Paul! I agree about the pads, especially after hearing how they made the speakers in my car rumble! So, I thinned them out a bit and hi-pass filtered them, which also brought the level down and I re-posted the song. Hopefully, that did the trick!

    Hi cryo,

I enjoyed the tune and your production.
The bass and drums were super punchy but not overdone.
I thought the vocalist had a kind of stevie nicks quality to her voice.
The instrument arrangement was nice. It’s spare enough that it leaves room for the vocalist to come through. But it also conveys a nice energy.

    eric,

    Yea, cryo,

nice arrangement. Sparce but still full. Drums really nice in this one. Love the down tempo - really leaves you space to put the vocals and your sounds.

Cryophonik, this one I liked much better than "You'll fly away." And that refers both to the music and the performer. Very cool trancegated synth/pad there. And the lady has a clear and sweet voice. And the bass occuring on kick drum is top notch.

Wow - thanks you guys! I'm really pleased to hear so many positive comments. Sara and I are just starting to work on another chillout track, so look for that one in the next few weeks!

Yeah I liked this one! Can't get more chilled. Liked the vocal, fits in well with the vibe but could it may be pushed a little further back/more quiet? I have never made a vocal track so take that with a pinch of salt.

I completely agree with cb8rwh about the vocals, they seem a little hot in the mix, especially for an ambient style track like this one. Also I noticed you don't have any instruments that attack the sub-bass, maybe look into that area as well....but with all that said, I have to say I really dug this track and have all ready listened to it a crapload since you released it. I love me some slow trip hop style drums, excellent work on those as well!

Split album from myself and :10: (Sean Forsythe) can be found at this link :)
