[track] merlin mcbain - everland

Hi folks.

Here's a little guy I've gotten tired of listening to and must finally kick it out of the nest.

Let me know what you think.

Liking that track eric. Pretty chilled. Some really nice sounds in it also and as ever production is very good - nice and clear mix.

    Cheers

Excellent track, eric! I love the mix and the combination of sounds. It really establishes a nice groove. My only (very) minor comment would be that it starts out slow, kicks into high gear for a short burst, then returns to another breakdown that seems to linger just a little too long before it kicks back into the high energy mix. But, that may be one of those first impression things that I'll feel completely different about the next time I listen. All in all a top-notch production!

Another nice one, Eric. Great mix of sounds, not to mention mix. Love the stutter effect on the bassy lead in the middle slow section. REally, really nice effect.

    Always love your stuff.

Wow.... this really hits you at about 0:30. Very nicely done indeed!! You've mixed those sounds so well, and the piano is awsome

Things just get better and better round here!!

    Great track.

    thanks all for listening.

cryophonik - nice comment about the structure. I think that quiet section could be shortened without doing any harm, or a part could be added to that section to maintain interest.

Good sound. A lot of songs I listen to on Soundclick lately haven't had the best sound so it is nice to hear it here. Not that I get such great sound but at least I put in a good effort to do so.

I really loved pretty much everything about this song. The arrangement of it all seems especially nice. Great percussion, awesome sounds. A+

Neat bells at the start, and then neat bass to provide a solid body to the melody. Really cool "critters" sounds. Panning is superb as well. Slows down to almost nothing short after 01:00 and gets too slow and repetitive there. No real main theme that I can discern. The entire track sounds rather experimental.

I think that if you develop an attractive main theme and play around it, as well as pick up the pace a bit and put some meat on the bones of the minimalist section sounding between 01:00 and 02:00, this could be really good. Cheers!

Top notch mix and production as usual, I liked the structure but do agree with cryo. about shortening some sections up or adding more....My biggest problem with this one (and this is personal taste) was the snare, it seemed it was a little to subtle in the mix for my liking, I think if you brought it out a little more the glitch drums would have a bigger impact playing off of it.

Either way the track is still pretty stellar as it is, nice work!
